A Casa de Estremoz Logo

Estremoz is where we have spent our holidays since childhood. We grew up building fond memories of Alentejo’s sun-baked landscapes of cork trees,
whitewashed villages, vineyards and olive groves. We have renovated this house, which was built in 1939 and then acquired and kept it in the family for three generations, with our friend and architect João Cassiano Santos who preserved the lines and the soul of the place, so that guests could share the same joy that we have always had there.

A Casa de Estremoz is recognized by its four chimneys, white thick walls and concrete floors. It can accommodate up to 10 people (6 adults and up to 4 children or 8 adults). There are 3 rooms with king size double beds, each with its own toilets and local white marble showers surrounded by hand made tiles, and a mezzanine room with a queen size bed and 2 single beds which is ideal for children. A fourth social bathroom is also available. A fully equipped kitchen opens to a large living room with a fireplace and a large window facing an oak cork forest. Outside, there are three hot water showers that you can enjoy while watching the nature (or the stars at night). The 11 x 5m swimming pool with a large deck is just a few steps away. The house is equipped with central heating so that it can be enjoyed all year round.

“Alentejo is rapidly becoming one of the top wine destinations in the world” – New York Times.
A popular destination for wine lovers, Estremoz and its surroundings are home to several award-winning wineries and many looked-after restaurants where you can enjoy the great food from Alentejo. But with a fully equipped chef’s kitchen and fresh ingredients at hand, you’ll be tempted to cook at home, either indoors or outdoors.

A Casa de Estremoz is 90 min drive from Lisbon, 5 min drive from Estremoz and 30 min from Évora, an Unesco World Heritage Site, known for its well-preserved historic center, Roman temple, and exquisite cathedral.
But there is much more to see.
From the charming Vila Viçosa and its Ducal Palace, which was once the residence of the Dukes of Braganza, to the Alqueva Dam – the largest artificial lake in Europe –  and the beautiful fortified village of Monsaraz, to Castelo de Vide and Marvão in the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, northeast of Estremoz, a popular spot for hiking and trekking trails that allow you to explore the region’s countryside.
